The PSW1212-POE is a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Injector/Midspan with integral 12VDC, 12 Watt power supply. It provides 12VDC power for one PoE-equipped device by "Injecting" DC power through the CAT5 Ethernet cable. It is compatible with Access Points and other equipment supporting the IEEE standard PoE pinout (Pins 4 & 5 Power + / Pins 7 & 8 Power -) and the 12VDC power requirement. Compact Wall Mount Design Since the PSW1212-POE is completely self-contained, a separate power supply and injector is not required. It can be plugged directly into a wall electrical outlet, eliminating the need for additional power cables. The compact size makes it ideal for crowded equipment enclosures. The PSW1212-POE can convert any of L-com's 120VAC industrial enclosures into a 12VDC PoE ready enclosure. Built In Protection Circuits The PSW1212-POE feature built in over voltage, over current and short circuit protection. If an overload is detected, the power shuts down automatically, when the overload is cleared, the power is restored. The LPXTRJ45-100TX-POE surge suppressor is designed to protect equipment from transient over-voltages on Power and Ethernet applications. The DC power terminal is connected directly to the positive pins (4,5) and the negative pins (7,8) of the RJ45 jack and when connected to a DC power supply it provides power for the Power and Ethernet circuit. The suppression protects the Ethernet circuit by limiting the magnitude of transient over-voltages that are present on each pair relative to each other and relative to ground. Note: Trim Ground lead to shortest length possible for optimum suppression.
